KATY VOOGHT’S ART PIECE – By Michael C. Bungay

Originally published 28th May 2013 before the piece in question was actually finished!

What do I see in this picture? It looks like the bottom of the sea,
A colony of worms and tiny creatures in the roots of a tree.
It could be a bunch of tadpoles or possibly some pondweed.
Maybe it is a microscopic new life-form starting to breed.
The magic crocodile tongues from James and the Giant Peach.
It could even be krill hiding in seaweed not far from the beach.
Blades of soaking grass on a very wet day after being trimmed,
The markings of a magnificent bird with its wings skimmed.
The possibilities what this picture portrays are truly endless,
An abstract and random piece that is inevitably going to impress.
How the world would look if it spun enough to become a blur,
A symbol of speed or wind blowing prey into the web of a spider.
Is this where fictional characters in the media go when they die?
There is truly a lot more to this work of art than meets the eye.
A vivid work of art portraying the infinite wonders of our planet.
Now I wonder how it looked when the creator actually finished it!
