Your feelings on Seth MacFarlane’s first foray into live action film-making will honestly depend on how entertained you are by an hour and forty-five minutes of a teddy bear spouting some unnecessarily crude dialogue masquerading as edgy humour. The intensely silly and spectacularly underwritten story begins with a look at the lonely childhood existence of John Bennett (Wahlberg). Picked on by the other kids he makes a magical wish for a real friend which brings his beloved stuffed bear to life. Promising to be best buddies for ever, they still live with each other 30 years later. Ted (MacFarlane) is the washed up soft toy equivalent of a drug-addled child star who sounds exactly like Peter Griffin.
